Laura B. Schwartz,  ACSW - Executive Director

Laura received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 1983. After 10 years of practicing Medical Social Work in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island, she joined the staff of April's Child as Assistant Executive Director/Program Director in 1993 and was appointed Executive Director in December 1997.  Laura is Past President of the National Parent Aide Network (NPAN) and speaks at local, regional and national conferences on issues related to parenting and to the prevention of child maltreatment.

Stacey Rosenbluth, LCSW - Clinical Director

Stacey received her Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University in 2000. She joined the staff of April's Child in February of 2015.  Previously, Stacey worked at FEGS in New York City for 12 years.  Initially she was the Clinical Supervisor in a day treatment program for mentally ill/substance abusing adults and later creating and running various programs, most notably the Resource and Referral and Undergraduate Internship Program.

Sonia Herzenberg-Kleinman, LCSW - Parent Aide Supervisor - Bilingual 

Sonia received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 1991 and has worked  at several mental health clinics throughout Westchester County.  In addition, she was an adjunct instructor at Mercy College's Social Work program for three years.  Sonia was born and raised in Latin America and is a native Spanish speaker.  She is also fluent in English, Hebrew, and German and is able to to communicate in Portuguese.

Ruth Ipince, Senior Parent Aide - Bilingual

Ruth joined the  staff in March of 2001 as an Intensive Parent Aide, was promoted to Senior Intensive Parent Aide in 2004 and to Senior Parent Aide in 2015. Prior to joining April's Child, Ruth owned a store, did private childcare and was a Teacher’s Aide for a Spanish speaking student in a local elementary school. She received her Associate's Degree from Westchester Community College.

Martha Jordan, Director of Development

Martha has been working in fundraising and development for 25 years.  She has a special passion for helping women and children lead fulfilling and promising lives, free from violence and abuse.  She is a graduate of Barnard College.
